Campbeltown Wastewatchers Ltd is a community based recycling organisation which was set up to reduce the amount of waste being transported to landfills from the south Kintyre area of Argyll,by addressing the issue of and taking advantage of potentially recyclable materials being dumped to the detriment of the environment and to provide employment opportunities particularly for people with special needs.
Campbeltown Wastewatchers Ltd also recycle textiles, drinks cans, plastic milk and soft drinks bottles, and provide confidential shredding services for local businesses.
Over 76 tonnes of textiles were recycled by Campbeltown Wastewatchers in the 12 months to July 2003.
